Does a Wi-Fi booster work ?

@VHK in some situations a simple wifi booster can work. They need to be installed half way between the hub and where you need the boost as they need a decent connection to the hub. In practice thecspeedd they can provide is 50% of the connection speed they have themselves. 

If your home is wifi unfriendly because of its l`yout with say lots of floors or solid walls boosters are of limited worth. Here it is better to use a system like powerline which uses the mains cabelling to get the signal to the furthest point and have a wifi access point there. The other alternative is to buy a whole home wifi system which usually do work but are not cheap.
