Why do Sky reduce your broadband speed

Sky reduce broadband speed when you are nearing the end of a contract- is this so you will contact them and agree a new contract - we've now got fibre in our area! So Sky stop doing this and improve the service I'm paying (a lot ) for or you'll encourage me to go eksewhere!!

Not only does that make very little business sense (because it would just encourage switching) but Ofcom would be very unimpressed.

Any such slowdown is coincidental: with something like six million properties subscribing, some are inevitably going to have technical issues which occur towards the end  of a minimum contract term rather than earlier.

@139Witzend  Arer you sure the slowdown are not in wifi conn ected devices, do you have evidence Sky have intentionally slowed down your broadband speed?

Perhaps posting your router stats will back up or disprove your theory?

This link explains how to get your router stats https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband/How-to-find-your-Sky-Broadband-router-stats/td-p/2855717#
