Hi Kev,

I think we have participants from a number of different providers and routers here. This feels like a generic device problem rather than a Sky problem -- but us poor users have gravitated here because Sky community's google rankings are so good 🙂

Thanks @maybe+jb

That makes sense - I hope you all manage to get a resolution soon 👍

Thanks

Yes it was reasonably reliable up until February . The local wireless lcd display works fine still on mine but for my purposes that is of no use as I am about 3 miles from the site I am monitoring . I rely on the Wi-Fi / internet connection working which has not been working now for nearly three weeks. Definitely a server connection issue at their end .

Thanks Ed, I think quite a few of us here are "new users" who have found this problem during our installation and bedding in phase.  It's reassuring to hear that it is impacting long standing users as well.

They really need to pull their finger out and fix this!

@KevNewMedia Sky (Q & Broadband) user & find these forums are a go to place when anything won't work & it involves broadband! Not all  posters are Sky broadband as @maybe+jb said, but we seem to gravitate here as it's a good community space & with this issue, someone had said it might be that the Kingspan device did not use to work with Sky. However, they have upgraded to new firmware for the USB... Sadly, they seem to have forgotten to upgrade their own servers 😬

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Hi - I was not aware they have upgraded their USB firmware - did they tell you this ? particularly annoying if they have done this and they are taken so long to rectify

cheers

@EdC1299

Hi, they upgraded the firmware to 2.0(so it would be compatible with Sky-as it wasn't) ... most usb's should be that now, if you have purchased recently, but good to double-check 😊

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Do you know how you check the firmware version?

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

@maybe+jb  No, I don't, but was told if it's connecting at any point, it will be the 2.0 version. I think they can tell from behind the scenes when they look. No identifiers on the devices we have I am afraid

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Again... it was all a bit vague from them & they didn't mention it to me until I asked. & I asked because someone on this thread mentioned it early on.

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

so spoke to them again today as still not connecting, Was asked to reinstall app and reset again and leave for 48 hours.

In the meantime they would do some work at their end, didnt specify what exactly but said they were doing some maintenance.

Will leave until next week and see, hopefully it works, if not then I'm going to move on as not prepared to waste any more time on this.

Fingers crossed !

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Out of the blue I got an email from Kingspan today to say that they are still investigating the SSL issues and are continuing to make changes in this area (my testing shows connections still failing).  But they have decided to send me a new dongle anyway.

I'll obviously report any changes here (maybe it connects to a different endpoint?) - if it connects to the same place I'd expect it to have the same problems to be honest.  But clearly they are working through their backlog of support incidents and it was nice to get an unprompted follow-up

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

This seems odd.  I started this conversation and after having temporarily disabled my Hive I have whilst sketchy, connectivity for most of the time since I got it working.

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Still issues their end. I have had a few periods of 'red' over the last few days but mainly green. And that's with the newer firmware.

My observation (as I have hive also) is that it's not related to that.

For me the firmware 2.0 is working with my sky max now but as they have admitted, kingspan are having technical issues.

Hope they don't get to a point and pull the plug on the entire product!
