@Runingrufus  Yes... it can often connect but the problem seems to be at their end & Hive seems not to be the issue, as some of us without Hive have no readings/sketchy connectivity or some kind of lag at their end. The whole sensor network was not functioning at several points over the last weeks

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Been reading through these pages for the last couple of weeks, I had to change to Kingspan Sensit as my old Olive system went out of business.

I installed it in January 25, and like others it has been pretty random since then. BTW I'm with BT for my broadband and Sky for my TV! Some things I have observed.
It does not like wifi networks with long names and it will also drop off a guest network, (I have a BT Mesh Network Extender with a guest network). It has a stable connection to my BT Hub and I can see the data ticking up when I have a look at the router. Nevertheless it will work for a few days and then return no readings for a few days before it kicks back into life.
I generally see the stick changes from red to green and back to red again, when it changes from red to green to red again I generally get a reading, if it stays on red or green for a long time it generally means that I will not get a reading.
I have contacted the help desk a number of times and each time they have informed me the problem is on their side and can see my device calling in.

Since I installed in early Jan, I have had 41 readins to date, the most days I have had a reading in a row is 5 and the most days I have not received a reading is 4. On average I  get a reading for 2 or 3 days in a row and then no readings for 1 day.
I agree not a reliable system at the moment, hopefully they will get it sorted soon.

It really is pretty poor!

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

I have now had enough readings that I can see the trend line and my average oil usage - if it just worked every day it'd be perfect for my needs.

@maybe+jb  Yes just had a reading after several days gap. Have a sort of trend now, But sadly had ordered oil, as wasn't sure when next reading was coming & so have under ordered. Very annoying.

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Since I spoke to them back in Feb, the system started working early march. It has been solid green and providing daily readings that are now each morning. They were all over the shop to start.

I simply left it as they said and whoever was monitoring it for them seems to have done it. I'd certainly recommend calling and they seem to monitor your case better.

Mine has been OK for maybe 5 days in a row but not had anything for over 24h and it's red

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Hi @maybe+jb

I'm also having issues with SENSit, didn't appear to pair (gave errors), yet solid green light for many hours, which then turns red for hours and then back to solid green for hours etc.

I've got BT Smart Hub 2 - and can see all devices connected to my wifi - how did you identify which wifi device is the SENSiT one please?

Not getting any readings, as I've got a 650L tank which isn't available in the dropdown list and it said it failed to save the custom tank dimensions.

Many thanks

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Hi - you should be able to log on to your router (with the admin password which is normally located somewhere on your router (maybe a pull out card from my memory if it is BT?) then I find the best thing is to monitor what devices are on your Wi-Fi (normally there is a page for this) disconnect the Wi-Fi dongle and see which disappears - I think it may contain the letter ESP which refers to the chip that is used in it - however quite a few home automation devices also use this chip. Hope this makes sense .  By the way mine has not been working properly still since late Feb and now they do t even replay to me lol. Will continue to chase th though. Cheers

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Hi @EdC1299,

Many thanks for your reply and suggestions - I've checked my BT wifi router and the Wi-Fi dongle name is espressif. The dongle shows as connected, irrespective if dongle is solid red or solid green. It seems to be solid green from around 9:00pm to 8:30am.

I'm still not getting any readings, as the SENSiT app refused to accept my custom tank details, which I have to enter, as our (EcoSafe ESSL650)  is not in their dropdown list.

Over the last few days, I've sent Kingspan SENSiT support team an email and also contacted them by phone - but no resolution as yet, so time will tell I suppose.

Just as well we have the plugin receiver to tell us approximately how much oil we have left, to the nearest 65'ish litres  - although far from ideal for 650L tank.  Given the bunded tank siting regulations, we couldn't get a bigger tank.

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

It'll show on your router when red as the issue is between your router and kingspan rather than your router and your dongle.

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

I was meaning to do an update.....
Up tothe 21st March it was pretty random giving readings, after the 21st nothing happened for a few days. On the 27th March with still no readings I unplugged the unit, counted to 10 and plugged it back in, it returned a reading later that day.

It has now provided a reading everyday ever since. The readings are generally in the morning but some have been afternoon or even evening.

So I suspect something happened on or after the 21st which disconnected my unit from the system, perhaps a system update, once I switched it off and back on again it has worked with out fault so far......

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Hmmmmm I'll give mine the finger tomorrow and see what happens. Annoyingly I need to order oil in the next couple of weeks and what with the price dropping I want to get my timmings right, so could do with a reading!
