Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Hi,  I have a Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit and it will not connect to my broadband.  I have disabled 5GHz on the router but still no luck connecting to the dongle.  The tank sensor and dongle have worked on the installers Broadband but not on my sky broadband.

For a white Sky Max Hub you'll probably need to reduce the wireless security level from WPA3 to WPA2-PSK using the Hub admin settings in the My Sky app.

Thanks you for the guidance.  My router is black so not sure if this still applies but when I can log onto it I will check the settings.  Strangely my Hive and smart meter both work perfectly. Regards,

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Hi Guys, so set security to WPA2 and my sensit app says No internet access when clearly there is.  The sensors have been paired to another tank to test using an alternative broadband provider and worked.  So not sure why my sky broadband is the issue here??

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

I'm having the exact same issue. Black Sky hub and SENSIT oil monitor. Looking on the Kingspan site it sounds like it is incmpatible or at least some settings have rendered it incompatible. I'd suggest the Sky hub is pretty common in the domestic broadband market so this feels like an issue Kingspan must resolve. I've logged a support ticket.

Strangely when I first set it up (5 days ago) it connected fine and I had at least 2 days of connection to the sensor. Now it is not allowing me to connect to my Wifi network - not sure what has changed.

Sky Broadband supplies around six million properties, so yes.  There will be a mixture of Q Hubs (2016 and approaching obsolescence), Sky Broadband Hubs (2019) and Sky Max Hubs (2023) plus some antiques.

The sensor manufacturer are suggesting my broadband repeater (Sky Booster) may be interfering. I'm running some tests.

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Whilst I do not have a booster I have resolved my issue.  I turned of my Hive central heating controller.  I then reset my senstit watchman which connected properly for the first time.  I then turned on my hive.  My tank senor stayed connected.  A day later I could not reach my Hive - I turned my phone of and on again and it connected so I think this was purely coincidental.  For the last few week both my wathcman senit and Hive heating are working fine.  So my view is the Watchman had issue making the initial connection to the tank whilst the Hive was live.  When the Hive was switched of the watchman could connect and subsequently stayed connected.  If you don’t have Hive then maybe it is another WiFi related service that is stopping the initial connection to the tank.   Also as an FYI whilst watchman says it doesn’t work on 5G it does.

I don't have Hive but I do have Nest so perhaps there is a similar conflict.

Try it let me know if it reslves the issue.  Turn of Nest.  Try and pair to your tank.  If iot works leave it for 30 mins then turn on Nest

Has anyone else solved this issue? I have hive and turned it off but still not connecting

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Having the same issue with my Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit.  I have  Sky (black router SKY Q & x2 boosters) the device successfully pairs & then after a short time the red light flashes.

Have logged a support enquiry with Kingspan, but wondered if anyone had successfully resolved this issue?

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

I had exactly the same issue.  In my experience Kingspan will give you the standard - it doesn’t work with 5G enabled only 2.5G - NOT true.  Check your security setting etc etc.

As per previous post turning of Hive seemed to allow watchman to connect and turning on hive afterwards did not cause issues.

I would recommend disabling ALL wifi connected devices e.g booster boxes, heating, cameras, TVs – try and get watchman to connect and then turn everything back on one by one.

I do however sometimes have to turn my phone of and on again (IT Crowd) to log onto my Hive – coincidence I feel

I wanted to paste some images just to show both watchman and Hive are working but apparently, I do not have permission to do so

Re: Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi Tank Level Monitoring Kit

Hi all. Finally got some sense from someone at Kingspan.

Apparently there are old usb kingspan dongles which run a v1.1 firmware (my one). These are now not compatible with some routers.

Kingspans updated dongles run a v2.2 firmware which I have been assured will sort the connection issue.

Mines arriving tomorrow so will report back!
