Upgrading broadband , will i be double charged?

Hi all

Probably seems like a really silly question, but with money super tight atm I can't take any risks lol.

On my Sky app, if I select to 'upgrade' to a faster broadband package ( its only a couple of pounds more expensive than my current one but alot faster speeds) will I then be paying for my current internet package AND the new one, or do they just add the extra couple of pounds onto my monthly bill?? As because I'm mid contract will there be a payment overlap, or any extra charge etc?

Thankyou!

@KayyMackk  Until your new service is connected you will pay what you are just now on the superfast. If you have taken ultrafast when that goes live is when your change happens.

Re: Upgrading broadband , will i be double charged?

@KayyMackk Depends on which service to what service. If going from superfast on fttc to a fttp service ultrafast, then there will be a new installation, the old service will continue until the new service is installed. You may possibly get a replacement router, depends on what you have, the phone will go voip and plug into the rear of the router. You will more than likely not incur any additional charges, possible a delivery charge, normally £10, and more than likely new 18 month contract. If you are not sure, call sky 150 on your landline and the agent should advise you there and then. Hope this answers your question.

If just a speed upgrade then possibly no charge, but 18month renewal.

@KayyMackk Do you know if OR have installed fibre to the area that you reside in. And that it is available

which it should be if you are able to go through the sky upgrade online.

@KayyMackk Your choice, online or phone call, i would think either way you should see the cost if doing it online before you commit yourself to the upgrade. Will take some time for you to get the install, not instant....

@KayyMackk  Also if you call you might be able to ask for the admin charge to be waved, to save a bit of money.

The old package will operate until replace with the new one

billing is done in advance so any overpayment will be refund on the next bill

but you will have your month in advance for the new service plus any partial payment from when the new service starts
