Upgraded my sky broadband package, and the original has gone so slow

Now we have upgraded (not connected yet) our original has gone so slow. Good job for cooling off period, so I can go to BT

That's going to be a coincidence: how would it be in the interest of any ISP to lose your new fixed minimum period subscription by deliberately reducing line speed of the existing service?
