I found out that I can upgrade from copper to full fibre on my property. So, I have signed up to have this installed. On the MySky App, in the My Orders, it says I need a Conversion Kit. I was told that I dont' need a new hub. I currently have a Sky Hub 4.2. So what is the Conversion Kit?
Also, on the day of installation, the engineer will need to route the cable along the front of my house and through a garage wall as on the other side of the wall is my living room where the power sockets are for the tv and hub etc. I'm hoping this will be okay.

It's an ethernet cable to go between the ethernet port marked WAN (Wide Area Network) on the Sky Broadband Hub and the ethernet port on the Optical Network Terminal (which will be installed as part of the process)

Probably, but would need negotiation on the day. It helps if the route is as clear as possible.

Re: Upgrade to Fibre
@AH2691 The grandly titled conversion kit isxaxshort Ethernet cable to connect your existing hub to the new ONT the engineer will fit.
The engineers do something around 80K installs a week so there is inevitably limited flexibility. The engineer will try to meet what you want but in thecend will tell you what is possible so be prepared to compromise. You can if you want decline the install but at some point will havecto switch fron using the copper line.
As mentioned above the hub connects to the ONT by a srandard Ethernet cable so you can buy a longer cable to move the hub awayfurther from the ONT which are normally fitted on the inside of the external wall where the line comes into the property.
