Sky IRELAND Broadband installed Friday evening. Spent Sat and Sunday trying to connect - faulty WiFi with signal < 2MB on 500MB connection. Wired means standing in the sweltering attic so is not an option.
Picked up a second hand Asus RT AC88U today and reset it and updated the firmware. When I try to use Asus "Create New Network" it can not detect so it has to be done manually.
I have read and copied numerous suggestions on this thread, tried both Automatic IP and PPPoE (with option 61 username and password), but to no avail. I have of course turned off the router and ONT and waited about 20 or 30 minutes a few times. Getting the "Your ISP's DCHP does not function properly" message. Here are my settings.
Can anyone see the problem please?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreFor Ireland it shuld be PPPoE. Make sure the VLAN ID is set to 101

Thank you for the reply @jamesn123 - I reset the router and set it up as per my third photo which was the PPPoE settings. I looked everywhere for the VLAN setting but can't find one. I search Asus website and it does not list the AC88U amongst the VLAN supported routers. I'm not sure what that means other than I can't seem to make the setting you suggest. SO I have photo3 and I'm getting nowhere. Any more ideas?

By the way vlan id is 10 in ireland
You can find it in lan->iptv
And create a custom/manual vlan id vid of 10 in the internet tab

Why do Sky/Ireland have to be quirky and make it different 😉

Vlan id in the uk is an openreach feature of 101 for vdsl and unmarked and untagged for fttp
In ireland its 10 for fttp just think of it as an international dialling code for different countries

@jamesn123 and @cookiemonsteruk you both should get medals.
It's working beautifully. And for anyone else finding themselves in the same poisition, here are the Asus router settings for Sky Ireland. Note username is 'anything@skydsl' and password is 'anything' wihtout the quotes.
