Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@peggelg Option 61 applies to DHCPv4 the DHCPv6 PD method seems to work for most connections but as we are told not all as some Openreach exchanges dont support it. I have never seen a list of which exchanges do before you ask. If using your kit is critical Sky are not the best ISP to use.

Thanks @Chrisee
May need to look at iDNet as they are the only other provider offers FTTP in my area (only been completed a few weeks ago). Or need to wait and see when BT / Zen offers

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@peggelg in a similar position myself with the checker only showing FTTP as oderable yesterday. I checked BT Retail and they had picked up,the availability so do check. I am pretty certain the other BT companies will also as they all use the same database.
Surprisingly Sky had availability with dates but would not let me finalise the order but that is likely due to my account which often happens to me.

Eventually bit the bullet and bought a DECT style phone from germany which is basically a mobile phone that my old man can get along with, paid for call redirect to the mobile number for my landlane which allowed me to replace the SR203 with a VR2800 ( its a stopgap for now ). Been getting better download speeds with my gigafast connection which I didn't think there would be much difference but its there

Hi @HarvsG
Does that configuration allow you to use the Sky hub for VOIP Sky talk and your own router to priovide your LAN and wifi? I have a Draytek 2765 which i use on FTTC but will be upgrading to FTTP next year, depending on finances! Would be palnning to continue to use the Draytek as it drives a segrmented LAN to separate out IoT and streaming devices from my data network.
Thanks

I have the AC5300 too, have it working as my router with sky dchp and WiFi disabled.
I currently have problems with sky VoIP, outgoing voice only.
Sip disabled and rtsm( or something:)) disabled
I feel the incoming ports is not configured correctly but can't seem to find a solution.
Did you manage to get voip working?

1. Connect new router to sky via ethernet.
2. Reserve up address of your new router.
3. Add new router IP address to the DMZ.
4. Disable WiFi on sky router.
5. Run network installer on android via Asus ap.
Select dchp as your protocol
These are the steps I followed to get online

Hi @moloneyr,
Interesting. I could try the arrnagement with my Draytek though I doubt I could reseve the same subnet address on the Sky Hub as i use for my Draytek, which I use to provide a segmented network.
I assume that because your Asus is connected to the DMZ you are relying on its firewall to provide protection for your network rather than the Sky Hub's firewall. Otherwise you are in effect exposing your entire LAN to the internet

Asus has its own internal firewall I hope this will be ok

Hi @moloneyr
If you are connecting using the Asus's ethernetWAN port (not theRJ11!!!) then the internal firewall should protect that interface. What I am not sure about as I am not a network specialist is whether sticking the Asus on the DMZ will route traffic correctly to and from your LAN
Have you tried this architecture? Does it work?

@No2ID yes this worked a treat until I went messing this morning now I am in trying to get it back up and running again.
The VoIP stuff has thrown me

Hi @moloneyr
it is good know that arrangement does work. Thanks. That will help me when i go full fibre next year. Were you previously able to get VOIP working and it has gone wrong since changing so something. Perhap disablingthe WAN dhcp is the culprit? Just guessing as software is my career, not hardware/networks

I had most of it working calls out but not in, but now I have nothing working. Asus restore settings and inlm still not getting a wan IP. I was close but I think I'm about to give up 🙂

Hi @peggelg
Did you end up trying this with your Meraki? I have an MX80 which I'm not prepared to switch out, but Sky has the best value package for me currently, so it's on the table. Be interested to know if it worked for you or not?
Thanks

Meant to say, it's a Meraki MX84 not MX80.
I've just looked through the release notes, looks like IPv6 on the WAN is not enabled until firmware 17.5 which is in Stable Release Candidate rather than Production release.
