Re: Terrible Wifi Speed
Great. That shows that there is no problem. Would be great if there in fact was no problem.

Re: Terrible Wifi Speed
@Mightyslug It shows the speed to the hub when tested by sky, the variable is now the device that you are testing with to the hub, example on a sky max hub stand about 5 foot away from it and test, the device has to be capable off doing it on a wireless wifi connection, I have a FF500 fudge factor depending on what the family is doing i can take off about 60Mb/s and when not in peak then 500/70Mb/s. Will link a quick test in a minute!

Re: Terrible Wifi Speed
@Mightyslug When you report the 100Mb/s as the speed then the cable from the ONT to the Port4 WAN connection of the sky Hub becomes the suspect, One bad connection on that cable pulls the sync down to 100Mb/s speed interface, so therefore a wireless speed will not get above that, BUT the concerning factor is that your service checker showed all good, on the bar's.....
Unless you can Ethernet Test the sky Hub, there is just no way to know, just now it's looking like your device, it's locked on a 2.4Ghz band and on a device that will be around the 100Mb/s speed mark also!
What are you testing with, if a mobile switch it off for a few mins, back on and when up speed test again... My test was from my laptop testing sync is 1733/1733 wifi5 device connected on a 160Mhz wifi 6 AP!, Nothing to hold it back at all!
Mobile test did 377/67.7mb/s to the same server on ookla!

Re: Terrible Wifi Speed
I have been running the tests on a laptop. I have connected it to the hub and reran the test.
It is significantly faster at circa 250. Still half of what it should be

Re: Terrible Wifi Speed
@Mightyslug Can you say what sky hub you have? Link below for the various types!
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-which-sky-hub
You need to get this out off your head, the bar chart you seen on the 500Mb/s, that is what your hub is getting, the speed over wireless wifi is just about how good the device is ie your laptop, and how good your sky Hub is a sending it to the device and also how busy the network is where you are and what the server your checking against is good for, plus is your speed test pushing data, ookla is well up for testing and Fast.com is just a joke most off the time....
I use Asus high speed router's and AP's there is NO sky hub on the system, they just do not cut the mustard so to speak!

Re: Terrible Wifi Speed
@Mightyslug Say no more, never used one, and never would ever!
You could try reducing the wireless security on it back from WPA3-T to the WPA2-PSK with your MySky app, you have to use it for everything, link from sky all about that!
Sky Max change settings link.

Re: Terrible Wifi Speed
Down to 120's on all 3 platforms as the real speed.
Clearly im going to have to remove this router as it is not capable of delivering anything close to what is required.
