Static IP

Hi there,

 

I have recently installed a CCTV system in my house.

However, every time there is a power cut I need to reconnect through wi-fi.

This is a problem for me, since I travel a lot and sometimes this is not possible.

I have been told that changing to a static IP address will fix the issue.

Can we proceed with this change asap!

Sky does not offer fixed IP on any current domestic broadband product: that's now basically extinct on non-business service.

You could always use a Dynamic DNS service which will give you a constant host name you can access on the Internet which will translate to your dynamic ip.

 

No-Ip and Duck DNS are free and worth a look
