Slow websites and apps

We switched from BT to Sky Full Fibre and since the installation, websites take several seconds before they start loading. Facebook comments and Instagram search are very slow and often take 40 seconds to load pages/comments. The My Sky app shows 306 Mbps, and our phones get about 289 Mbps on Wi-Fi, so this isn't a speed issue. It affects multiple Android phones and laptops, but these devices work fine on mobile data.

Re: Slow websites and apps

I agree with this.

Had nothing but issues with slow apps since joining sky a few weeks ago.

Facebook, any comments, pages, Tacticus game. All v slow to load or connect

No issue with speedtests or test with mysky

Re: Slow websites and apps

Unfortunately, no progress has been made. I've been going back and forth with SKY. They said they escalated the issue to the network team and that it would be resolved within 72 hours. However, a week went by, and I received no response, so I had to follow up again. I went through all the troubleshooting questions and tests, only to be told again that it would be escalated. After three weeks of chasing, it finally reached the network team, who replied that they ran tests and everything is working fine. The situation has become so frustrating that I have to turn off my Wi-Fi and rely on mobile data instead

Re: Slow websites and apps

We've just moved (back) to Sky and are having numerous issues like this - Facebook comments taking forever to load is one of the most easily reproducible ones.

I posted more info about the issues here, including a bunch of things we've tried:

I'm starting to think we should just cancel and move back to Vodafone if this is a widespread issue that Sky don't have an understanding of 😞

Re: Slow websites and apps

Brand new sky customer here with the same issue. I was a virgin media customer for 6 years. No issues at all. Infrastructure in my property hasn't changed, same access points and lan connections yet everything is so slow and flaky as hell since swapping to sky. I've had the "we'll send you some pods" response. 1 pod sent and no different. I suspect it's a router issue or something in the exchange equipment. I've disabled all the content filtering nonesense as that was my first suspicion but still flakey as hell. I'm considering cancelling too seen as they can't deliver the service they contracted themselves to.
