Re: Sky offering me full fibre but I know it’s not available
@Eskimalita Sky use Openreach's network to deliver services either over the old copper network or tge new full fibre network they are installing around the country which is explained here https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/where-when-building-ultrafast-full-fibre-broadband
In practice it involves running fibre cables to pass each property inevitably there are issues where a particular property or properties are missed. However if the marketing was be based on the postcode those missed properties get an offer tgey cannot in effect get it is annoying..
I would expect that in practice when you tried to order it would not go through however if Sky's system did allow the order it would be rejected by Openreach something we see quite frequently. Unfortunately with the speed of the full fibre roll out mistakes happen.
As a general point the orginal poster doesnt "own" a thread but I hope the above answers your question.

Re: Sky offering me full fibre but I know it’s not available
My apologies if you felt I had hijacked your thread.
I'm relatively new to the forum. I believed that it's best not to open "new threads' on the same or similar query/help.
Due to your question on FTTP being simlar to my query I asked k @cookiemonsteruk with help to understanding the BT open reach search address info.
@cookiemonsteruk was so helpful.
So I thank you you for the original post and to all those that offered up helpful tips and info.

Fairly difficult to make a mistake when Sky can see the BT PIA plan. There's no ducting on my road. Sky haven't built anything in my exchange area.

Sky and other Openreach ISPs don't build infrastructure at all. They populate hardware into some exchanges, but have no direct involvement in cable, poles, ducts or cabinets.
The ISPs laying their own physical networks are 'altnets', meaning they historically haven't sent data over the national Openreach network (although that's starting to change as the market matures)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Exactly this...so why are Sky trying to sell me "full fibre"?
