The problem with that statement is that it's impossible to quantify "business use only" as a Sky Stream customer I use the news channels and in particular Bloomberg and CNN for speculating on commodities etc. Obviously I also use other services delivered by Sky Stream but one could equally argue that these are business use.  

I use my current line for remote connectivity to many cloud based services, downloading and uploading large amounts of development data, monitoring and trading Forex and commodities, Beta testing,  Streaming Sky TV, Gaming and Audio.  

I don't see any confirmed definition of "business use"

@Chimpishuk in my own experience if you present a logical argument politely often Sky can be flexible but no guarantees.

Would have thought with all the expertise you'd invest in a hardware firewall to connect to ONT with wireless access points. Sky's hardware is pretty basic compared to the firewall setup approach...

I hope so!

Sky need to get with the times.  A lot of people are working and running business primarily or running a side gig from home.  So a product with a better router, built in 4G back-up and a static IP is appealing.  Why not build these into a residential product? They can't even recognise that rolling out Gigafast without a router capable of Wifi6 is a dense move. 

Most of my traffic is encrypted anyways which would prevent any packet inspection by Sky.  Obviously I can't encrypt Sky Stream though.

To be fair, BT and most other ISPs are doing the same: a somewhat unexpected global pandemic and related silicon component shortage kind of got in the way of production on the scale (and price point) they require.

If you read the previous page I did mention using AP's as I have cat6 datapoints around the house.  My old house was over three floors and I used the BT AP's.  The bloke who bought the house asked if I'd leave the switch and patch panel cabled in and the AP's. He didn't have a clue. Which I did for a small fee.  

Yes I could use an appropriate third party fw with AP's I suppose. At a considerable cost to me.
