Sky hub max and UniFi access points

I have just move to sky and have the sky max hub for broadband- I also have 4 UniFi access points AC lite. My ex broadband provide virgin media the set up worked with ALL the access points dotted around the house connected to push the WiFi around the house.

now with sky I don't know how to set up the sky hub to "talk" to my access points.

or indeed change anything on the access points.
my Virgin hub was set as a router and NOT modem - however I gather you cannot do this with sky hub?

can someone help? Whilst I'm in the cooling off period otherwise I have to go back to virgin.

I'm not a wizz with all this stuff
thanks

@Jaroo911 you have it the wrong way round, the AP's need to be setup to talk to the sky Max hub, who setup the ap's for you before!

Re: Sky hub max and UniFi access points

They were set up about 5 years ago by UniFi support when I purchased them. I don't have a clue.

Re: Sky hub max and UniFi access points

@Jaroo911 The VM box hub/router has a ssid and password, so take note off both those values, when you power up the sky Max hub that you are getting, then with the app as that is the only method you can use to make changes, connect only the one device to it, ie your mobile, from within the app go change the two values IN the sky Max to that of the VM that you have noted down, reboot the hub to be sure that those are applied and you have a good chance that the 4 AP's will connect fine to the sky Max hub.

The Sky Max is a router just like whatever version of the VM you have currently. Link below how to change a ssid and it's password from the sky help.

If you AP's are all wired back to the Ethernet connections on the back of the VM hub then swap the Ethernet over you should have zero issues if the AP's are all hardwired!

Re: Sky hub max and UniFi access points

@Jaroo911 No problem just keep a note off it all in a safe place and DO not lose it, very important the ssid/password combination and NO Factory Reset's off the Sky Max hub unless you wish to set the sucker up again!
