Sky hub delivery

My sky full fibre is due to be installed and activated on Friday 23rd May. I still haven't received the broadband hub, and the app says awaiting dispatch. Having called Sky tonight they said I have to wait and there is nothing I can do.

in work from home and I am being switched from Virgin to Sky and I'm concerned that I will lose my broadband connection.

is it normal for items not to be dispatched so soon before activation? FYI Openreach hav already done the outside work.

is there anything else I can do?

TIA

@Gibbsy55

Hubs are dispatched to usually arrive a couple of days before activation. They are sent via Royal Mail.

It is normal as it is usually timed to arrive a day or two before your activation so there is nothing that you can do.

Re: Sky hub delivery

@Gibbsy55 As long as you have used SKY for the OTS then the VM broadband should stay up all the way until the sky is installed, connected and fully working. Error's happen but they are not the expected...

Re: Sky hub delivery

I was also getting a little nervous about the Sky router delivery. Mine arrived 2 days before activation.

It was posted via Royal Mail  next day delivery. Would have been some drama if Royal Mail lost it or some delays.

You mentioned Openreach have already done the exterior work...so have they already fitted the grey box.

I had Openreach do the outside grey box and inside ONT fitted on same day of activation.

@Sayek whether you get a one step or multiple step fibre install depends on the route the new cable follows. Running a cable overhead from a pole is quite often done in one visit but if the cable is underground it can be two or more steps. My own install took over 4 visits.
