Sky broadband upgrade to 'Full Fibre 900'

Just order the uprade to full fibre 900, seeing so many horror storries on installation after ive upgraded so thats not great, but no where can i find the answer to either of my questions.

1. What router will i recive i currently have the old black coloured on from 'broadband and talk' its terrible one of the main reasons we have upgraded.

2. when they come to install will my existing 'copper' internet work until the fibre is functional? there was no option to choose dates and times and work from home.

Existing customers who already have a Sky Broadband Hub will typically keep that unless they opt to add the WiFi Max subscription supplement (or are having FTTP provisioned over a CityFibre circuit)

In theory, yes, but that's not absolutely guaranteed, because, for example, the copper can be accidentally damaged during the optical installation or even intentionally cut to provide a draw cord through an existing duct.

It's presumably a business decision to promote WiFi Max.  Note the Max Hub and Gigafast+ Hub are different - the latter is currently only available where Sky Broadband is being delivered over CityFibre infrastructure.

A Q Hub should be replaced by a Sky Broadband Hub on moving to FTTP because the Q model doesn't have a phone socket for Sky Talk Internet Calls (and are being withdrawn anyway as they no longer meet UK regulations for internet routers)

@Zee1006 The link below about the sky hubs, these are current as off now with the last two being phased out!

Dates and times are all a flux until the order get's accepted, then sky try to find out when OR/CF can do it, at that point you will get the heads up!
