You need an ethernet cable and an ont only if you are getting full fibre fttp

What speeds did you go for.

The ont if not installed will usually be installed on the day of activation

The speed we went for is 61 Mb/s. We are due to have an engineer visit and an activation for the broadband.

Is there any form of contact needed in order to ensure a ONT is installed to the house, or would it come along by default during the visit?

61 Mbps sounds like a fttc speed.  You would need whats called a dsl rj 11 to rj11 cable that will plug from the broadband plug on the mastersocket to the purple port on the back of the hub.

From the guide instruction I have received, it tells me that I need to connect an Ethernet cable from the the broadband box to the ONT.

Ok. Full fibre fttp is available its just 61Mbps is a strange speed. Its usually 80Mbps. 150 ,500 or 1000Mbps

It does look like the ont is still to be installed on your activation day

Also its a complex l2c installation. Meaning they can't securely use a ladder so they may have to get a specialist cherry picker , hoist team in which may delay the installation.

Re: Sky broadband router ordered but I don’t have an optical network terminal

I have already received an Ethernet cable from my package delivery, just like I said, I don't have an ONT.

I'd just add that 'Complex L2C' may  imply a less-than-straightforward installation and 'OH external CBT' means the fibre-optic cable is coming from a pole rather than a duct.
