Sky Glass and Smart Plugs

We have a couple of Gosund smartplugs that worked quite happily with our old (non sky) router.  But since switching to Sky Glass we have been unable to pair the plugs with our new Sky router.  With limited tech knowledge I understand this is because the plugs function on 2.4GHz, not the 5GHz.  I believe the Sky router is 5GHz but also dual band ~ I think!  Don't want to have the hassle of switching bands and potentially compromise Sky Glass functionality.  Anyone had any experience of this?  Can't think we are the only Sky Glass users with smartplugs!  Thanks

@LAfleck  Your post has been moved to the Broadband forum as this issue relates to your hub not Sky Glass.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@LAfleck

The best thing to do is to split the bands temporarily to connect the plugs then sync the bands back up.

Re: Sky Glass and Smart Plugs

Hi James.  I have tried to do this, following Chrisee's steps, but after desynchronising the bands and adding something to one of the SSIDs and then pressing Apply, I get an error code saying I'm not connected to the internet!  So frustrating.  I think I might just have to give up.  Unless anyone really does know of a smartplug that is compatible with a dual band router........

@LAfleckAre you trying to do this via a wireless device when doing the split of the Wi-Fi frequencies?

Re: Sky Glass and Smart Plugs

I'm trying to desynchronise from my imac which isn't hard wired.  Do you think this is the problem?
