My Sky Broadband installation has not been started yet and it has already been four weeks since I purchased the product. My contract with the old broadband provider has already ended and I am now using my mobile internet for work which is often times unreliable. An engineer from Openreach already visited my property to mark digging spots for cable installations but that was already three weeks ago. I get weekly updates from Sky, but always the same message basically saying "Product is delayed. We are working hard to get this done."
Sky, please sort this out as soon as possible. I have never thought of waiting for a month for this.

As you've indicated yourself, digging, ducting and cable laying is the remit of Openreach and its subcontractors, not Sky or any other Openreach client ISP. These ISPs are specifically not permitted to intervene in the Openreach rollout of FTTP, primarily to prevent BT from gaining a competitive advantage from the continued ownership of Openreach Ltd by BT Group.
It's perhaps also worth noting that delays in digging are far from unusual, and that August is a particularly problematic month for personnel availability.

I have the same problem but I haven't been waiting that long. Getting fed up now.

With a ten working day minimum lead time, and particularly in August, that's really not a long delay.

Are you new to sky or the property or upgrading for example superfast fttc to ultrafast fttp?
The notes from the link i gave should show any issues
