Hi, Im trying to setup TP link Deco E4 mesh system to my Sky Superfast broadband FTTC. I've set up the decos and have connected the main one to the Sky Router with the ethernet cable supplied, it seems to work and have better signal in one of the deadspots however my daughter can no longer connect her PS5 to the network. I've read a lot of posts about this but usually its about a different model like the M9 for example. Im not sure I've set up correctly, can someone help with the best setup please? I have superfast 73 FTTC. Am I correct in assuming I disable WiFi on my Sky router 4.2 then setup the decos in AP mode? Currently my router is WiFi enabled and think its causing issues. Also does the sky stream puck connect ok to deco if I disable WiFi on the Sky router. Sorry but I'm completely new to this kind of setup. TIA 😊

@Dazzler_75 I use a similsr set up myself. You should disable the Sky hub's wifi unless you have Sky Q tv boxes if that applies post again but having multiple wifi networks can cause interference. The Deco units sre best set up in Access Point mode as opposed to router mode.It is also worth running the Network Optimisation routine in the Deco app which checks for other wifi signals and switches channels aporopristely
With your limited cinnection speed upgrading to Wifi 6 capable units is a waste of money and there is no reason why a PS5 wont connect but it may be worth resetting the console to clear the old connection details.

Re: Setting up TP Link Deco E4 with FTTC superfast with Sky Router 4.2
@Chrisee thanks for the reply, I will disable the skynrouter WiFi and reset the PS5. Should I do a reset of the Decos and restart the setup after disabling the router WiFi or would just disabling the router WiFi alone be ok?

@Dazzler_75 shouldn't ne necessary to do a reset on the Decos they do take a while to optimise I find once set up leaving them to do thrir thing seems to work. The app will tell you whst is going on.

Re: Setting up TP Link Deco E4 with FTTC superfast with Sky Router 4.2
When you have set the Deco up in AP Mode have you experienced reduced internet speeds at the end points?
I have the Sky Q router with 300mbs FTTP if I set the Deco up in AP mode I get anywhere between 75mbs/120mbs at most endpoints (Wifi or Wired). If I set them up in router mode I get the full 300mbs, but then I have face a double NAT issue, which causes me lots of issues when online gaming.

@kmacc007 my own Deco system has never had issues with throughput in AP mode giving the full 500Mb/s my full fibre delivers in my main living area. This applies to being used withbthe older Hub4.2 and the newer white Hub6

Re: Setting up TP Link Deco E4 with FTTC superfast with Sky Router 4.2
Thank you. I'm definitely experiencing this issue, looks like quite a few people with different models of the TPLink deco's experience the same issue.
I've turned off AP Mode for now and getting full speeds wired and wireless. All my SkyQ mini's and the main box are wired so no issues with multi room.
The only issues I'm faced with now is double NAT on the Xbox. I've added all the Xbox live ports to the port forwarding on the deco, the open NAT / double NAT issue is now fluctuating.
I can't find a way to add these port forwarding rules on the SkyQ router, (I have the older black model).
Do you have any experience with this? I've seen people mentioning adding the deco mesh system to DMZ but does that cause security issues?
thanks

@kmacc007 see Split Sky WiFi bands
Sky normally require return of the black hub and the customer keep the white one.
