I have FTTP going live on the 15th
I run various services and servers over my connection including my own VPN server and various other servers
i also have no interest in the fragmentation issues and such due to implementing this
so require it to be disabled which Richard Patterson stated can be requested by end users if they require it
which i do
I would like the MAP-T Disable Profile set please
Not MAP-T 1:1 or MAPT 8:1
Can you apply this to my account before i go live please to minimize my headaches on the 15th

We can't apply anything. No idea who Richard Patterson is but just to point out you haven’t contacted Sky by posting here. This is a customer ▶️ customer discussion forum.

@Shonk If you are aware of how the forum works then why make the account settings request in your post? Surely you would have known that not going to happen by posting here.

The Escalation process which I think you're referring to has been unavailable since the summer.

You are also using two user names for some reason. You just needed to stick to the one from 2011. That's why we thought you were new to the forum.

Re: Set MAP-T Disable Profile
@Shonk or @Shonk_ there is a pinned post at the top of the forum which contains a form which goes to the relevant team. While you request is not strictly the same use case that is your best appproach.
However the simplest solution is to use a third party router rather than the Sky Max hub which has many other restrictions as it is heavily locked down. Sky can only use MAP-T where the router tells the authentication server it supports DHCPv6 Option95.
For thise who dont know Rich Patterson is a senior network architect at Sky.

Re: Set MAP-T Disable Profile
Yes i did the form a couple of hours ago
I will be using an Asus RT-BE88U as the primary router + GT-AX6000 in AP mode
There are a couple of things you have to do though
Option 95 has to not be used on IPv6
Option 60 on IPv4 has to not have MAPT1 in the string
Im aware that i can force the issue
which is ofc what i will be doing
No form of CG-NAT is ever acceptable to me for my usecase
at some point in the future they will stop offering the MAP-T disable profile
so its best to get it applied to my account straight away
in the same manner as i had the fastpath profile applied to my account in something like 2008 with easynet before it transfered to sky
as sky didnt offer fastpath to end users even though the option was there and my line synced at the max 20480 1312 or whatever it was
as it was applied to my account i managed to keep it until VDSL2 went live then went G.fast 160 for a couple of years
realised they where never going to offer G.fast 330 so transfered away
I have been on the internet since 1994 and had broadband the day it launched in 1999 in my area

Re: Set MAP-T Disable Profile
@Shonk_ according to the information we have been given Sky only apply MAP-T to connections using the Sky Max hub. There was an isdue where some Ubquiti routers starting hitting issues where the routers advertised Option95 but did not in fact support MAP-T which Ubquiti fixed a mear 8 years after the first report. No mention of any other changes.
As previously stated it looks like Sky are a poor choice on an ISP for you. I wish you luck with youri insistance of no CG-NAT as most if not all ISPs will be using it within a few yesrs if the internet does not switch to IP6.

Re: Set MAP-T Disable Profile
they are not a poor choice for me
the sky backbone is the best out of all major isp's
with the lowest average latency and jitter
and they allow you to apply a no MAP-T Profile on request
and once something is applied to your account sky usually dont remove access
even when they stop offering it
you can go watch the Richard talking about it in a november 2024 rundown of sky's implementation
he even says you can contact me directly to get it disabled if required

Re: Set MAP-T Disable Profile
sky already have enough ipv4 for all users they but dont it causes issues with leases and having to juggle between
dhcp servers the ranges
under 1% of users need MAP-T 1:1 by sky's own statistics
so 99% of users are using MAP-T1:8 so they have 8x the needed ipv4
once all users transition to newer sky routers
they have also stated they are not backporting MAP-T to older models
so are always going to offer a standard dual stack
they ipv4 spare pool will only get larger as people transition
people in my usecase are going to be something like 0.1%
it makes no difference to sky if i us dual stack or MAP-T 1:1
so there's no point forcing people onto MAP-T from a dual stack
in my scenario
