I was told by an openrech engineer today that I need to ask sky for an SNR Reset.
I would do this by phone but I have a recent broken arm and was told it could take a long time to get through.
I'm not able to hold a phone for very long because of being too uncomfortable together with the pain.
Is it possible to get this request done on here?
Many thanks

Find out more@steve+284 I don't think you're taking onboard what @cookiemonsteruk is saying...even with a DLM/SNR reset, an ADSL connection, which yours is, cannot run at sufficient speeds to use any kind of 4K service. The absolute max it could run, on a perfect, short line is 24Mb, for stable 4K you ideally need 30Mb+.
Your only and proper solution is to upgrade to full fibre FTTP which is available at your property, and of which there are a lot of deals about at the moment as providers are trying to push the uptake of such connections. You'd probably find Sky will do you a deal that will be cheaper than the connection you have at the moment which dates from early 2000's....

A dlm reset to reduce the snr is usually the first thing an openreach engineer carries out before going to the property and carrying a repair.
Have you had a visit?
Have you reported a fault,
Could you post your hub stats

It's a sky+ hub with 3 white lights.
Engineer found multiple faults and tried to get an SNR Reset but he or who he called didn't have permission. He told me to get in touch with sky.
He spent 3 hours fixing it (phone & internet) but still have low internet download speed of 7 mbps.

I tried your link about the hub but there was no password (admin) box to be found.

3 white lights on sky+ . Is this the sky tv box or a very old sky router
The details are
Username admin
Password sky or the wifi password

Yeah it's a very old router.
Is this what you want?

The line attenuation on a full copper line suggests you are 2.8km from the exchange in which case the line is performing well although your 2.4ghz wifi has dropped recently.. So it may be a dodgy hub. Even then 10Mbps ain't getting you much streaming or anything come to that
Could you enter your full postal address below and post the table after removing your address from the image

Trying to see if any faster speeds are available if not a new hub may be in order

WBC FTTP means domestic full fibre to the premises is available. Given your speed you could request 40, 80, 100. 150, 500 or 1GBPS full fibre and 10 times more reliable than the adsl2+ connection you have at the minute

That would cost more money, yes.
Before I make my mind up or go with another provider I would like sky to do the SNR Reset.
The openreach guy said I would get better speed after the SNR Reset.
I really want to be able to watch 4K.
I'm already paying more than I should because I'm out of contract with sky.
What can I do in the meantime to get sky to do the SNR Reset. As I said at the beginning I can't hold on to a phone very long because of my arm, it'd be too uncomfortable and painfull.

Adsl2+ never carried a guarantee and the dsl checker shows the speeds on you line at the minute of 10-15 Mbps would prohibit 4k anyway. I will contact the community managers to see if there are any black friday offers that may sway you 👍

Sounds like I'm not gonna get this SNR Reset unless I phone, which I can't do for a few weeks.
Thanks for your time and trying to help out.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@steve+284 sorry but it looks like the engineer was feeding you a line as a reset on your ADSL line will achieve nothing as your line appears to be running relatively well for its length as shown by the stats and the table you posted from the line checker. ADSL2 is very old technology and is simply not up to modern requirements.
It is highly unlikely Sky would ask Openreach for a reset if asked as your line is performing within the expected parameters. The killer is the Openreach engineer could normally have ordered a reset themselves if it was required.
The suggestion to upgrade to full fibre is a good one and may not cost a lot more Sky have a number of deals around Black Friday including a 100Mb/s fibre broadband at £28 per month for 18 month contract
