@edgie700 the SR203 is compatable with full fibre and where customers switch Sky send what they grandly call a "Conversion Kit" which is a short ethernet cable.

Re: Router for fibre broadband

Thanks for your reply , so basically I can just get them to add this to my package and I don't need to do anything to my router , kind of all done at their end ?

Re: Router for fibre broadband

@edgie700 You more than likely will get the free upgrade with out any extra charge on a like for like what you have is what you get to fit in with your package, may have to sign-up again for the 24months but do let us know that for sure!

Re: Router for fibre broadband

You mean I'll get the same router sent to me ?

Re: Router for fibre broadband

@edgie700 Doubt it, you will get the 1M Ethernet cable sent to you to use with your existing hub! You don't want a new one with all the Re-cycling off the old hubs, better the devil you know!

Re: Router for fibre broadband

Well just been on to sky , waiting for a call back to arrange an engineer visit , he said they will send out the " Sky 4.2 router " to me , googling that 4.2 router it is apparently the SR203 of which I already have !!! Apparently it still says on their system that I have the old sky Q looking router , which I've not !! So it looks like I don't need to mess with anything on my router !

@edgie700 You said you had it in your opening post! And no doubt sky system has not updated info for some reason.

Re: Router for fibre broadband

So this doesn't need an ADSL cable then , my router is on the other side of the room and can't be moved nearer to the socket , presume I would need to buy a long ethernet cable ?

Re: Router for fibre broadband

@edgie700 Take a look at the OR video for the installation day, they will want to stick it onto one off the outside existing walls, and yes you don't want the hub there then longer Ethernet cable get's you to the position you want the hub in, if it is all working great at present then that's the place for the hub to be!

Re: Router for fibre broadband

Thanks for the video , I take it it needs a double socket , one for the ONT box and one for the router ? , as I put earlier my router is on the opposite side of the room and currently connected to my BT box via an 8m ADSL cable , I'll buy an 8m ethernet cable ready for them , I presume the ethernet cable from the new ONT box just goes in to one of the ethernet ports on the back of the router ? Thanks again

Re: Router for fibre broadband

@edgie700 That is correct it goes into the Lan Port 4 off the sky hub and is marked as WAN connection, furthest on the right as you look at the back off the hub, also included the link below to installing a new hub so you have the Electronic version...
