I've read some discussions on this already, but as the title says, I'm looking to replace the sky hub with something off brand and I have a few questions, I'm currently using the "Full Fibre 150" package from Sky.
During the installation, the engineer that came said that the connection to the router was only setup to work from one specific port, he didn't elaborate much on this, nor did I ask at the time, as I had no intention of replacing the hub, but now I'm just curious as to what that may have meant and how it would affect any replacement.
Secondly, I've seen some of the discussions about specific brands and hubs and I was looking at this specific hub: ASUS RT BE55, It's cheap and cheerful and seemingly meets my needs.
It's not anything crazy, or expensive, but appears to have the parental controls I'm looking for to restrict access (Teenagers), so my question is would this work, would there be any extra configuration required from Sky's POV or mine from a Plug and Play perspective.
