Purple cable not plugged in?

Hello, we recently had Sky superfast internet fitted, there is a purple cable in the router but it wasn't plugged into the new white box that open reach installed, should it be plugged in?  Thank you 🙂

If the 'new white box' has LEDs on it then it links to the Sky Hub over ethernet and the other cable isn't required.
