Re: Provision of broadband service .
@StuartBungle No problems seeing the exact same on my other side off the street, is one big farce, but all customer driven and crews arriving weekly, do this house today, skip a week do the next door, oh this ones not scheduled now until Sept so let's just skip until then and re-dig the holes again! Keeping lot's gainfully employed! More paint and arrows, pictures off what is needed heading of to the planning team....

Re: Provision of broadband service .
Out of the blue actual Openreach engineers turned up on the 20th August and provided the fibre to my property . Having been told otherwise previously that Openreach do not dig , these chaps could and did dig into footway to get through the damaged duct ( caused by Cityfibre when they dug their duct in ) . Next day a contractor also out the blue ( good job i was in ) installed BB Fibre into house .
Have just come off the phone to Sky as when i originally ordered the package ( 8th March ) the Fibre was £20 a month for 24 months . They are now charging me £23 a month as there was a price increase since my original order ! I calmly explained my disappointment with this as it was not my fault that i only started to get service from the 21st August ( over 5 months since order ) . After much debate and discussion concerning fairness and what i signed for with the lady on the end of the phone .
I have now been assured that from now on i will get the service from £20 a month for 2years as previously agreed when placing order .
My compensation came to £524 . This was to be as a credit against my account , however they have agreed to pay it as two lump sums .
£300 and £224 .
I write this as Sky will not put any of this in an Email . ( Sky and Openreach seem reluctant to use Email ! )
I have been assured that notes are put onto your account if/when you need to contact them again and/or resolve any future issues .
Only issue now is did Sky contact NowTV our old BB provider to notify change of service . ( I forgot to clarify this )
UH OH as i write NowTv want to know why last payment failed for broadband service . Here we go again .

Openreach and its subcontractors dig all the time (and have limited statutory rights to do so) but for roads and pavements they have to wait for written acknowledgement from the Local Authority, Highways Agency (for larger roads) and any relevant utility companies, plus traffic management orders where necessary.
