Sky should be aware of the issues however it would still be a good idea to and tell them what the issue is ie reallocation of ip address from uk to ireland . In the meantime i'll copy this post over to our community managers for update

Is that definitely what the issue is? The last few evenings I've checked my IP address and it says Dublin but the speed issue is still happening.

Location is different to where you ipv4 address is been routed so a route to hackney , croydon etc would affect latency and possibly speed
Go to sky.com and check the flag in the bottom corner

Yeah you're right. It's showing a UK flag 🇬🇧 so what now; we just wait?

It's absolutely farcical at this point, everyone is reporting the same issue since the middle of last week and still the issue persist, down again tonight, you can set you watch by it. Couldn't work in the evening since last week and all the services we pay for that depend on the broadband can't be used at the times they're actually likely to be used. I will be wanting to be compensated for this, paying through the nose for gigabyte. I have rang then a few times since the issue began, I don't understand how they haven't prioritised this issue given it's so widespread.

Because I assume they don't know about the scale of the issue. Their customer service's highest priority is to get rid of you with canned responses, not to actually look into your issue. The whole thing is designed to make it as difficult as possible to reach a competent human. You need to click through multiple screens of useless "help" pages just to reach a phone number, and when you dial that number, you end up talking to a droid who's just going through a script and checkboxes, and giving you generic
(removed)
(in my case: "get a wifi booster", "slowdowns are normal during evening peak hours", etc.).
But I could be wrong, maybe they are aware of the scale of the issue. In which case it's just simply incompetence.

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue and reported to Sky. I asked if anyone else is experiencing the same issue and they told me no. I recently changed over from Vodafone and will be looking to break out of the contract with Sky and return to Vodafone. Complete joke!

I'm sure this can be fixed but when it is we should all get compensated. I'll be pushing for something and I'll let you all know if I get anything so you can push for the same.

Have had exactly the same and I am in greystones. Just spent 50 mins on a call to sky, waiting for 45 mins and they said they were working on it but no timeframe. Contract is up at end of year but may just switch now at this point.

Speeds dropped again last night in Greystones, Co. Wicklow - really hoping we can get an update on this today
