Re: New Setup not working

@pilotb Outside the two cabinet's that square below you are blocking with the holding off the sky hub, can you picture that front on as it could be an ONT there!

The ethernet switch isn't required to get the broadband connection working, and that should really be the priority.

Personally when purchasing switches I prefer brands I've heard of: my preference is Netgear models with a metal case.

OK, so that has twin optical jacks, but it's not an ONT.

Out of interest, what kind of property is this?

You mentioned it's a new build, but Openreach hasn't been installing ONTs with BBUs for quite a few years.

Re: New Setup not working

@TimmyBGood not really sure when it was originally built but it's a new development of high rise flats london!

So i'm not really sure of what the next steps would be here? Do I just book a Sky engineer to come sort this out or is it something I can fix myself?

Typically an ONT/BBU was installed inside an enclosure like this:

If the ONT is missing then there's nothing you can do other than log the issue with Sky: they schedule a replacement to be installed.

@pilotb On post 6 the picture what is the square box outside the cabinet, your picture is hiding it because you are blocking with the Hub!

An Openreach box, but no visible connections...

The whole setup is distinctly eccentric.

Re: New Setup not working

@pilotb Ok got that and also on post 6 the BBU as you look at it, LHS cable that you may be holding also in your hand, that is the Power output and plugs into the ONT for power, also going to send you a video link for the replacement and how to change the faulty batteries.

If they are not change, power blips your unit may just not keep the ONT up.

BT Openreach Fibre ONT - How to replace Battery Backup Batteries for phone line

Looks like the previous owners have done a good clearout, taken the ONT, the Switch and left you well high and dry!

Probably one off those real old ONT combined lan switch arrangements from the link below and now obsoleted by OR anyway, so do expect something different and switch may just be needed for all those Ethernet cables wherever they are heading off too!
