I moved into a new build and this is the Open Reach set up. There is no DSL cable but I understand the yellow ethernet is meant to replace that, but I connected that to port 4 on the sky hub and it doesn't connect. There is also a cable already attached that can't be removed but it doesn't connect anywhere on the sky hub, isn't that where the fibre cable should be? Can someone help me please

Do I just book a Sky engineer to come sort this out or is it something I can fix myself?
If the ONT is missing then there's nothing you can do other than log the issue with Sky: they schedule a replacement to be installed.

Re: New Setup not working
@pilotb The picture off you holding up the Sky Broadband Hub, yellow connected cable ends on the black cable to port 4, you should see the 2 Green lights on that port, LHS solid Green, RHS flashes with data to the ONT!
First picture with the RED lights looks more like a BBU unit and that is not where the Ethernet cable connects. butter front on picture is required, and coiled up fibre green connector looks like your ONT is not there!

Re: New Setup not working
That's an interestingly complex setup.
The first thing to note is that the device you've plugged the ethernet into isn't any kind of 'hub': it's the Battery Backup Unit for an Openreach ONT (which appears to be in one of the other images)

Re: New Setup not working
@pilotb Get that yellow/black Ethernet cable out off the BBU unit IT DOES NOT GO THERE!
If the BBU is not functional as indicating, then you need to replace the Four batteries in the unit, that is your responsability to do!

Re: New Setup not working
It looks like the ONT may be the device on the left in here:
A clearer picture of that would be useful.

Re: New Setup not working
Or it could be the missing device which was once in the space here (note the mounting screws) :

Re: New Setup not working
@TimmyBGood Think the Green plug is for the ONT and it's NOT there at all!

Re: New Setup not working
@pilotb With the Ethernet cables all hanging loose, and the fixing screw's would GO more with there used to be an 8 Port switch that has been removed and now gone, those cables all go out to points in other rooms! ? New build but you are not the first owner!

That doesn't affect the broadband connection itself though: it just lights up a rather misleading fault LED.

There appears to be a green optical jack plug inserted into the partly concealed box, and perhaps another one laying loose below it.
I'd agree that it's probably an ethernet switch missing to the left of the BBU.
The whole setup appears to have been customised: I haven't seen a BBU and ONT that far apart before.
