Netgear RAX200 setup

Hi,

I have got a Netgear Nighthaw RAX200 router and want to know the best way to go about getting it to work.

I currently have Sky Superfast broadband (I don't have FTTP). It is connected via a Master Socket 5c directly into the Sky router.

I am moving house soon which will have FTTP but I want to get it working in my current house now

@ChrisBeattie1992

To get it working in your current home you'd have to buy a 3rd party modem convert the signal from your 5c Master socket to an ethernet based one that your Netgear router would accept. However in your new home with FTTP the modem would not be required so I would recommend you dont bother wasting the money on the modem which will become redundant when you move home.

What you could do for now is put the Netgear router into 'Access point' mode and then connect it via ethernet to the Sky hub

Thanks for the reply!

I do have a DrayTek Vigor 902 access point, would I be able to use that somehow as a modem?

@ChrisBeattie1992 I had a quick look at that model and it does not seem to include a modem so you wouldnt be able to use that either. It needs to have a built in modem with RJ11 port
