Is a landline essential for Sky broadband?

Sky Talk is incorporated in Sky Broadband but if you don't want an actual phone connected to the line you don't have to. Just make sure you're on the Sky Pay As You Talk tariff which means no calls made equates to no call charges.,

Note that a physical copper or optical data bearer cable from Openreach (historically referred to as a 'landline') is a requirement for broadband delivery and the monthly rental cost of this circuit is part of the subscription paid to the ISP.
