Issues with full fibre

Since changing to sky full fibre I keep having issues with my router connecting to devices and having to reset it constantly. Think it was a mistake to change as worse than it was before.

main issue is connecting to sky devices (sky q and mini boxes) but also dropping in laptop

and phones.

@GRBS14 do you have a white Sky Max hub? If you have the way Sky Q boxes connect will have changed and they no longer can act as wifi extenders.

Re: Issues with full fibre

Do have the white box hub and two sky q boxes (one main and a mini) the hub is right next to the mini box. They keep constantly disconnecting from broadband several times already today. I rest it and it will work for only a few minutes. I don't think there is anything that should be affecting the signal and most other devices (phones and tablets) stay connected but do struggle with a good connection e.g slow
really think changing to sky full fibre was a mistake as it's worse then the old sky connection I have.

@GRBS14 sky Q minis cannot connect by wifi to your white Sky hub instead it has to be connected to the main Sky Q box. If the hub and mini are in the same room can you not use an ethernet cablecfrom the hub to the mini? If you could that should sort the issue with the TV box at least.

Sky dont go out of their way to explain to Sky Q customers the implications of getting the white hub which stops their Q boxes acting as WiFi extenders. Instead you need the extenders pods which can come as part of the WiFi Max bundle see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max

Re: Issues with full fibre

I am not sure I need extenders, the house is not that big and as I say one is 2 ft away. The issue is they just stop connecting for some reason. Also the speed issue, buffering, seems more of an issue. Troubleshooting on sky app is rubbish as the connection checks my phone and works fine. I think it maybe a sky q box issue

Re: Issues with full fibre

Should add I am not trying to use the sky q boxes as extenders, I have only just learnt since getting the new hub that you could use them as extenders before

@GRBS14 The Q bixes will have beennaxting as extenders whether you knew they were or not. Connecting the Q mini by ethernetvshould curectgst box's instability. Small houses can be more difficult to network than large modern houses if they have solid internal walls.
