Re: Is this a Scam Number?
I had exactly the same call from [removed] on 16 Jan 2026 claiming that my copper service would be cut off in August and that I needed to take action. It was from Sky as there was a very specific note in my account that Sky was aware of due to another ossue. This is simply hard selling without checking the facts/dates. I called Sky customer service on [removed] and they acknowledged it was Sky who had called but there is no action required by me. Openreach has no immeditre plan to provide Full Fibre in my street (I wish they had!). It's worthwhile raising a complaint on [removed] so that they stop this sort of nonsense.

Re: Is this a Scam Number?
Just had a call from a genuine Sky number but it started with +44 which is odd to start with, aswell as it came through on my mobile which is not Sky. This woman (foreign) tried saying some stuff about fibre and faster speeds, to be honest I could not make her out clearly. I suspected a scam caller so called Sky myself after the call as it is concerning that they are mimicking a genuine Sky number. Apparently Sky will only call people on their landlines with Sky and he is going to report it thier fraud department. Thankfully I passed no personal details over but beware this does seem to be doing the rounds.

Had one of these calls this morning.
The amount of information they had on me was frighting.
Address, bill payments going back a year & security question asnswer.
Not password right enough.
Almost had me because of the amount of infomation they had me!

Re: Is this a Scam Number?
Keep an eye on the number, if they call from a number which has a +44 that is a give away, this morning I had one on the landline from a very long odd number, I answered and it was a guy claiming to be from Sky technical support but he was very slow off the mark when I answered, a bit like he was reading from a script. This is on top of the call I had yesterday on my mobile which is not the Sky network like my landline.
I hung up on both occasions, next time I don't think I will be so polite.

Re: Is this a Scam Number?
@RobboOx You can string it along, give them all the WRONG information and all wrong ACCOUNT INFO then do the are you sure it's not working for you it's fine for me, scammers are hard, but as before many times a quick check with sky DID YOU call me should that be a very slow quick check hanging on the line, they have to do the due diligence and check with the counterparts which is generally the sky sales side!

Re: Is this a Scam Number?
With any calls from 'Sky' (especially unexpected calls) if the caller asks for your previously agreed telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which I would expect a genuine Sky agent to do) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll likely be a scam call.

Re: Is this a Scam Number?
On both occasions they have never asked for any password. The one this morning was to obvious, a very odd long number, and when I answered there was a delay in this guy speaking back almost like a computer had called me but then transfered me to a scammer or representative, whatever people like this call themselves. In the last few days I have had scam call after scam call on my mobile, some come up as ''possible fraud/scam'' others don't.

Re: Is this a Scam Number?
I sometimes do try to wind up scammers depending on my mood. The last two calls they never even asked for any security details. My mobile in the last few days has been plagued with scam calls, so the phone highlights them as possible fraud/scam, others it dont. Only yesetrday I cancelled one of the calls off, and then straight after one after another a new number would call everytime I cancelled the call as in not answered it.

What a brilliant idea!
My father has been receiving these same phone calls... they've called about four times but he wasn't able to talk at the time. At the last call he, fortunately, did the right thing and said he would phone them back directly. He's currently on the phone with them and they have no knowledge of these calls so, yes, it does seem to be a scam.
