I'm getting only 4.4Mbps and my download speed is supposed to be 64 ..

Hello there!

For a few days already, It seems like Sky might intentionally limit internet speeds while presenting misleading readings in the diagnostics settings at 192.168.0.1. Despite the Service Status page showing no issues, the "Test my connection" results indicate a significant gap between advertised and actual speeds:

  • Advertised: 68 Mb/s download, 20 Mb/s upload
  • Actual: Download speeds fluctuate between 4-7 Mb/s, while upload speeds is at 9/10 Mb/s.

I recently changed my router so that shouldn't be the issue . Despite obtaining a new router, the problem persists, raising suspicions of deliberate speed limitations and inaccurate diagnostics by Sky.

I feel like I'm paying a lot of money to get higher speed internet but I'm not even benefiting from 30% of that speed. I need an advice here, please. I can barely do anything on my PC when connected to the internet.  😑

Thank you.

@Soula   Please can you post your router stats so the forum can advise on any issues. This link explains how to do that https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband/How-to-find-your-Sky-Broadband-router-stats/td-p/2855717#

@Soula  It may be worth looking at the troubleshooting or advanced tab?

@Soula   Click on trouble shoot your network connectivity in the last image, if not try View information about the Gateways  performance etc in the Troubleshooting section
