Re: Hub

@jockney1 Sorry but the wont activate and the broadband ok, just dont go together very well? Booster's can be seperate also if not set up with the account side on whatever type and sky Equipment that you have!

Re: Hub

@jockney1 Can you run the service checker link, then broadband next the > to expand and see what the daily speed that sky see's when they check your line to the sky Max hub?

https://www.sky.com/servicechecker

Daily average and the speed package should all be shown too you like the link below!

Service Checker bars

Re: Hub

It says 71.6 mbs. Your speed could be faster. It's still saying failed to activate hub

Re: Hub

@jockney1 You need to call sky then dial 150 from your landline phone, the sky Max hub model, it's serial number etc and operation is all tied closely to your sky Account, you need them to take a look in case there is something wrong!

Re: Hub

@jockney1 The whole post now is a question mark, you have had engineers out, you've been told to wait, you have some form off connection as you mention speed, but what is it that you actually have from sky, sky Max and WHAT package connection type, highy speed above 300Mb/s will let us know you are on Full Fibre, also OR/CF Openreach or CityFibre connection if you know? Unless you have a total loss then compo is between you and sky for all the messing about!

Re: Hub

Im on full max. The fastest speed. It still says it could be faster. Im getting WiFi. Im not getting WiFi in bedrooms that's why they gave me 2 boosters. Hub cannot connect to boosters for some reason. Bt put in a splitter. Sky told me I don't need one. So who do I listen to ?

Re: Hub

@jockney1 If you have a splitter then you are cabled copper FTTC connection VDSL supplied with a max 80/20Mb/s download/upload speed. The Pods will NOT work until you get the account side all sorted out nothing else....

So in sumation you have a sky Max hub, connected to an OpenReach Master phone socket currently with a old ADSL splitter connected to that phone line, if this is all correct please say so!

Re: Hub

Im not sure what you mean.  Im confused now

Re: Hub

@jockney1 You have the sky Max white hub, sky delivers Broadband in two way's over a FF Full Fibre connection that allows speeds upto the range off 1000Mb/s download, then there is the older one that is partial Fibre and delivered over the copper cable telephone line with speeds that are around the 80/20Mb/s range.....

If you look on the back off your hub, cable plugged into the purple connector then you have the older partial fibre and that cable will be going to your splitter and plugged into your old phone connection!

Re: Hub

I had a purple bit going into hub. Think bt engineer snapped it. Sky said i don't need a splitter. So why did BT engineer put it in? Im still a confused 68 year old

Re: Hub

@jockney1 Got you now, the sky Engineer if that is what you get, pretty thin on the ground now but the splitter is all dependant on what type off connection and Master socket that you have....

The OR Engineer will know what is best for the connection, you really should have a new filtered Master Socket installed they are way better and more stable than the old ADSL splitter that is connected, unless you had a bad master socket and the OR Engineer did not have one in his parts van with him! Splitters are good for quick testing on the test socket but they do drop the speed ever so slightly not by much!

Openreach are not BT but we know what you mean! Let the Engineer which ever one you get take care of it all for you!
