Hi all,
I need to connect to an EzViz security camera. I've had this operating perfectly for years, but it broke once I upgraded to the Sky WiFi Max Hub. I think I need to connect to the 2.4Ghz band, but I can't see any way to force the camera to pick that up. I only have one SSD so no way to force a device on to one band or the other. Looking at my connected devices I can see that newer iPhones and MacBooks are connected to 5Ghz wifi and older iPhones and MacBooks are happily connected at 2.4Ghz, without any prompting. However my security camera clearly isn't that clever and needs to be pointed in the right direction, so I'm trying to differenciate the the two wifi bands.
In "Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi" the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands are both listed and there's an 'Edit' button next to them. I thought I could edit the SSD on the 2.4Ghz one to differentiate it, however none of the fields in either page are editable. I'm using Chrome on a Mac OS 14.7. Is there a bug with the Sky Hub admin? How do I edit anything on these pages?

In case anyone reads this, I did manage to get my Security camera back onto the wifi. I disabled 5Ghz band on the router, but also degraded the security level down to WPA/2. I don't know what the thing was that actually fixed it yet, but suspect it was the wifi security level. The quesion is, was the previous Sky router operating at WPA/2? I suspect not, in which case I don't quite know how it was previously connecting my camera!
My next task is to enable the 5Ghz band again, but I don't quite want to do this yet in case it undos 4 days of work up a ladder configuring my camera! I'll do so later in the week and report back if it all fails...

Max Hub administration is largely through the My Sky app rather than the web interface. The app will permit you to disable the 5Ghz band, but not unsynchronize 2.4Ghz from 5Ghz and run them with different SSIDs which isn't currently possible (and may never be)

When you say 'unsynchronize 2.4Ghz from 5Ghz', I can see that the Hub is happily operating at both bands with different devices connected to each. My problem is that I need to get my Camera to connect to 2.4Ghz, but it's either not finding it, or something else.
Would it be possible to disable 5Ghz, connect the camera, and then renable 5Ghz without dropping the connection with the camera perhaps?

Still no progress on this, even after changing security to WP2 and Wifi band to 2.4Ghz. If anyone has any other suggestions for reconnecting the previously working camera that would be great. Failing that, anyone know if Sky can take away the Max Hub and send me the old one back?

The Max Hub is the first Sky model to do WPA3. A Broadband Hub and Q Hub would use WPA2-PSK by default.

I am having the same problem with a Samsung tv. It was fine on previous router but won't connect to the Sky Max Hub. How did you get it to work?

With a white Max Hub you may need to reduce the wireless security level from WPA3-T to WPA2-PSK using the Hub settings in the My Sky app.

Yes, correct. The issue I had with the camera was that it couldn't connect with WPA3, I had to downgrade the wifi security level to WPA2. I'll need to invest in new expensive cameras I suspect if I want to run the newer wifi security that all my other devices support.

@Lizzie231 that's strange, I would have hoped Sky support should have suggested to you to reduce security settings. Not great from Sky 😒
