Full Fibre. Is it worth the upgrade?

Hi all,

We are currently having fibre fitted in my road. I spoke to the guys installing and theve said it will be a while till Open Reach verify and check everything is ok. So in the meantime i thought i would ask. Is it worth it? Any pitfalls with Sky Full Fibre? Ive had no issue with their FTC broadband. Any insights would be very much appreciated. Many thanks.

@Jasper2344  You might actually find it cheaper to move on to a faster speed as it is in the best interest of ISPs to get everyone on to FTTP and off the copper network where possible.

@Jasper2344Going by what normally happens that Sky might be a bit behind the leead to let you upgrade when you are told it is available to you because of updating their database.

When my street was upgraded to full fibre it was close to three month from the cabling being done until I could place an order with anyone other than bt

tge good thing about already having a working service is you have something while you try and patiently wait for the records to be updated by openreach

@Jasper2344 Sky are not always behind the other ISPs as in my case Openreach agreed to accept orders a only a couple of days before I called Sky to upgrade.

Full fibre delivers the speed you buy unlike FTTC where line length and cindition limit what speed you sctually get and unlike copper fibre is immune from interference so is far more reliable.
