Full Fibre Installation
I am due installation at the end of next week. Open reach came a few weeks ago and did what they needed to at the front of the house. My house is back to front so kitchen is at front, living room at back.
my question is - will i have to have a cable running from the front of the house, down the hall way and right round my living room for this to work?
When i had virgin a few years ago that was the case, but when returned to sky the installer put the new dish on the back saying theres no need to put wires all through the house.
thank you

Typically an installer won't bring the optical pigtail for an ONT deep inside a property: it's usually inside an external wall.
but when returned to sky the installer put the new dish on the back saying theres no need to put wires all through the house.
The location of a satellite dish isn't related to broadband, even when both are from Sky. For Sky Q only the main box has a dish feed cable.

Re: Full Fibre Installation
FTTP goes outside box (CSP) to inside box (ONT) over optical cable, and then ONT to router (Sky Hub) over ethernet cable.
The ethernet cable Sky supplies is a short one, so initially the Hub goes next to the ONT, but you can replace this cable with a much longer one yourself if you wish.

Re: Full Fibre Installation
I just don't want a cable running from front of the house and all the way through it like I had to with virgin

Re: Full Fibre Installation
CSP to ONT and ONT to router has to be cabled: that's inherent to the technology.

Typically in a two stage install that would be optical drop cable from local CBT to individual CSP enclosure.
