Got an answer to my question earlier. My question now is. How do I go about getting the external ONT box moved to a suitable location.
Its current location isn't suitable as there isn't any power by it, and as the sky engineer wouldn't take the cable around my house. He left.
I have phoned sky and they simply booked a new engineer to come out and activate it. I have since spoken to them several times explaining, the same issue will persist. Apparently they said "Our engineer will go up the pole and redo the whole ONT installation" now this does not sound right to me, I thought Open Reach had to do this. And there isn't anywhere the box can go that would give it power, without having to rewire it from the pole.
Does anybody know what I need to request from sky to get them to send Open Reach out to redo the external box from scratch? (I'm assuming I'm not paying for this since they installed it in an unsuitable location) and sky engineer is the one refusing to wire it around the house. (There are sockets inside, however it's a kitchen so all sockets are in use, but there are no sockets inside my plate cupboard which is where he wanted it put, which would then mean I could 1. Not power it 2. My cupboard would never close 🤣
All I keep getting is them telling me the sky engineer will go up the pole and redo it all then they try and sell me packages.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Duke931 Sky engineers are trained and authorised to do a complete an install from a pole and install the ONT in the home.. The external box is just used to connect the fibre drop lead from the pole to the internal fibre pigtail they use to connect to the ONT. Sky engineers are normally pretty helpful so I wouldn't worry.

The external box is the Customer Service Point (CSP) and doesn't use power in any way. It's simply an enclosure to house and protect a spool of optical fibre and the fusion splice.
The Optical Network Terminal is an indoor powered device: it's essentially a fibre modem to convert light to electrical signal.

Amazing thanks!
Can't say the last engineer was helpful. But sometimes that's the outlier rather than the norm

Sorry forgot to add in my reply. It's a flat roof though, which they know but sky can't go on a flat roof. Will this not still be an issue come the day the engineer comes out?
