Engineer fixed a fault but sync speed same as before
Sky app told me the speed was too slow and had an engineer booked. they did all the work outside then text to say its finished but the hub is still syncing at the lower speed according to the maintenance hub page. The app thinks its above the minimum now and said that it can get faster again in the next 7 days is that possible with a low sync speed or does that mean the engineer didn't reset DLM? thanks.

@Stealth_ Did your router re-start at any point during this time? What colour of router do you have from Sky, black or white?

@Stealth_ When was the repair work carried out, it takes 24 hours to show on the app and also for the hub to regain and go back up in speed.

Re: Engineer fixed a fault but sync speed same as before
thanks. it was only just this morning, do you know if me restarting it a few times today will have impacted DLM i don't know much about it other than its better not to touch anything until it finishes, i guess over the next few days it will reset and then the 14 days starts again? thanks alot for your help

Re: Engineer fixed a fault but sync speed same as before
@Stealth_ Are you on a copper fttc connection your hub would be plugged into a OR Master phone socket?
Some reading for you, just keep away from reseting your hub, continuing to do so you may end up getting really slammed down in speed.

Re: Engineer fixed a fault but sync speed same as before
@Stealth_ Not every engineer is allowed to do a DLM reset on a system, if they do then sky as normal kicks back up to it's preset max speed about 24hours or so later, and dlm starts working over the 10 day period adjusting and fine tuning till it get's its best conditions, a few off/on's with the switch on the hub and you are wasting all that good effort....

Re: Engineer fixed a fault but sync speed same as before
@Stealth_ When you unplug the router and restart it all the evidence is lost. If it happens again follow the directions in the link below and post your router stats before re-starting again or if possible leave it as is.
Could you please post your router stats following the link below.

Re: Engineer fixed a fault but sync speed same as before
i am leaving it on again from now on its only because the app told me to unplug everything. my downstream noise margin yesterday was 24.1 and the sync speed 4399 or something. today its like this..
I have a hunch that even though the sync speed dropped more that its one of gets worse before it gets better things because those noise margins don't look right when people talk about 3 and 6 lol

Re: Engineer fixed a fault but sync speed same as before
@Stealth_ Your line attn figures are super, but your noise is in the toilet, with those figures i would expect you to be up at high 70's Mb/s download speed's. Only YOU know what you have and past speed's we have NO idea!

Re: Engineer fixed a fault but sync speed same as before
i don't know what the best course of action is. i can cancel my contract but not sure if that is best. openreach fixed a fault outside without entering my property i am trying to be patient and hope it gets better but even half of the minimum guaranteed speed its still randomly disconnecting and the noise margin is getting worse. i want to understand what is normal because it was at 75ish mb/s and now it can't stay stable at 40 mb/s after a fault was supposedly fixed

Re: Engineer fixed a fault but sync speed same as before
@Stealth_ Have no idea what connection that you have from the Hub to the OR Master socket, the norm for years has been and take a look at the linked posting picture. Could be you have a bad master socket but it is very unusual for them to go bad. Do you have any internal phone extensions, and if you have a landline where does it plug in.

Re: Engineer fixed a fault but sync speed same as before
there are 2 internal extensions but i don't use a landline phone though just plug into the master socket, i think it could be that because the plastic part where you squeeze to unplug sits flush when its in making it very difficult to unplug so probably someone damaged it before because i have never seen that, today on the stats page the noise margins are fluctuating too basically at random
