@Stealth_ If you have the OR 5c master socket then the removal squeeze is not central but down towards the bottom part off the socket, and if you where connected to a digital line where phone would be plugged into the back off the hub for voice then all other phone socket's would be dead, you may just have an internal wiring issue and that is causing all off the noise, just hope that is not your case....
