My Podpoint solo 3 keeps loosing connection to my Hub 4.2.
This mainly happens every night during the night when a scheduled charge is set, however it does occasionally happen during the day.
I have recently moved my router closer to my Podpoint by 2/3m and removed a Sky booster but the issue still occurs.
I have tried to use the schedule charge on my BMW car app but the same thing happens.
All other devices are ok connection wise
Any help appreciated.

So...I read a previous article of yours @Chrisee and I split my SSIDs of my Hub 4.2 at the start of the week. And much to my delight, my car has charged every night without any disconnections. So it looks like issue resolved 👍

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@mofo-walk23 by their very nature ev chargers are usually mounted on double thickness outside walls which reduce the wifi signal significantly. A booster can help but is best placed near a window overlooking the charger as windows allow more signal to pass. You mention the problem is worse at night if you have Sky Q boxes set these to use the standby states Active or None rather than eco as that turns off their wifi hot spots in the early hours.

Hi Chrisee.
I will turn all boxes to Active today and report back tomorrow👍
Thanks

Hi Chrisee
Unfortunately I had the same issues last night with it loosing connection, I reset the fuse box and reconnected and it lost connection agian. I even left the door open between the router and podpoint(4m apart) for the signal but didnt work. Any other advice you can offer please?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHi @mofo-walk23 There is a useful app called wifi Sweetspots which is free and works on ios and Android so download that on your phone and check the wifi speed near the charger. If the wifi signal is reasonable then the issue maybe with the charger. My own Pod Point charger has given me issues which I resolved by disconnecting the power for 30 seconds which causes it to reboot this page explains how to reconnect the charger if its lost the wifi settings https://help.pod-point.com/s/article/How-to-connect-Solo-to-Wi-Fi
My own charger doesnt like my Kia and vice versa but I can manage a scheduled charge most days. 🤞

Downlaoded the app and speed is 23MBPS at the pod point.
Resetting the podpoint is very easy, but the disconnection happens between 12am - 3am and Im not awake to reset it.
I have split my SSIDs tonight which I read on another article so I will see what that does.
I have a booster so I can look at putting one on the other side of the wall to podpoint to see if that helps.

I posted previously… but still struggling
I split my SSIDs due to connectivity issues to my Podpoint and 4.2 Hub.This is now fixed.
I have reset the Podpoint and connected it to my 2.4 and that is what my phone is connected too.
However my Podpoint schedule/BMW app scheduling doesn’t work when set up.
I have trikes them both separately.
I can plug in and charge works totally fine.
Any tips?

I've just started getting the same problem and use a PodPoint to charge my car at night. I've never had a problem with the scheduler before and its worked perfectly for the last 5 months. It disconnects and turns blue and then connects again for some reason. Very annoying and I have no idea why its doing this!

That's how mine started. And kept not charging on the schedule. I split my SSIDs and the pod point stays connected but the schedule doesn't work for some reason.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Andrew422 check the pod point is still connected to the wifi network ie the pod point app can connect. Mine had a playful habit of falling off networks and required reconnecting.
Assuming the charger is connected the scheduler should work but even now my unit occasionally decides to charge when I plug in my car not waiting until the scheduled time. I conclude PodPoint chargers are not the most reliable units. In terms of connection having a wifi source near a window overlookig thechargervis sensible as external walls block most of the signal.
