Do I need an Ethernet cable for PC or is it wireless

My son uses a PC for gaming and work and tells me his needs an Ethernet cable but it doesn't reach the router. Does he need this or is there another way to connect ?

@Stella10  Unless the PC has either onboard wifi or a USB Wifi adapter they wil need a ethernet cable, these can be purchased in various lengths online.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
