Copper to fibre

Is it correct that I have to change from copper to fibre soon?

@Play66 A lot depends on is Fibre available, you are not forced to change, but depending on what you do an ISP will sometimes have no choice but to change you over!

 

Use the checkers below and you can see what is available for you sky first OR 2nd and CF if you are cityfibre area.!

Thank you. They have fitted fibre locally. Called today by ?Sky to say I had to change soon or I would not have broadband.

@Play66 at some point Openreach will switch off the copper netwoork but that is years away.Openreach encourage their customers like Sky to switch the end customers over to fibre oncexan area has been upgraded. 

 

Honestly full fibre is both faster and more reliable than partial fibre that usexa copper phone line from the cabinet to your home, However it can be a bit of a pain getting the new line installed BUT you should keep the copper line until the new fibre line is in place.

Possibly, if you are in one of the areas being targeted for the first trial withdrawal of service over copper bearers.  

 

However be aware that scammers may be jumping on this too.
