Cannot log into router

Hi all,

 

I've followed similar threads to log into router settings, but suggestions don't work for me.

 

I just get an error message saying it times out if I just type 192.168.0.1, or a slightly different error message if I type https://192.168.0.1,  saying it refused to connect.

 

Any suggestions?

Are you using any sort of 3rd party router/extender?

If holding the reset button on the rear for 30 seconds doesn't solve it you may need a new router as it could have broken firmware on it. 

Also try making sure all other devices are disconnected when you try accessing the admin page.

Tried that but no luck.

 

Surely I don't need a new router, I only got this one in December when I joined Sky(?)

Faults can occur in hardware that is only a day old. It could be physical or firmware. Just because you've only had it 5 months doesnt mean its not faulty.

Edited because system does not allow block to be deleted, or http without automatically changing to https.

@GSte first thing is only type 192.168.0.1 do not add https as the web interface dooes not support that secure standard and your browser or security software nay warn you the site is unsafe it isnt as it is an internal website only acessible from devices connected to the hub.

 

If you have the white hub dont bothercwith the web interface as the settings are in the My Sky app assuming Sky have added the hub before sending it to you.

Many thanks Chrisee, that worked..... Though actually I'd just found that I could change the settings I wanted to by logging into the main Sky website!
