Broadband slow speeds

Our broadband has been very unreliable this past week or so. I've just done several speed checks including being wired directly to the router itself and I'm only getting speeds around 93mbps max. I pay for full fibre 500mbps but I realise I won't always get that. However I think I am promised a minimum download speed.

Can you please advise steps to improve or send an engineer to check our service please.

Cheers

nic

@JD19881 & @NicTaylor1 slow speeds can have multiple causes but first run the service checker (No connection or slow WiFi | Sky Help | Sky.com | Sky Help | Sky.com and click on the broadband link to get an analysis of the current speed to the hub and whether it. Has activated the speed guarantee.

However spedds to the hub can be within spec but spedds measured on devices can be far slower especially if the devicecis connected by WiFi. WiFi speeds are affected by the layout of your home. What obstructions like walls are between the hub and the device and lastly the level of interference. There are things you can do which might help like making sure you hub is out in the open above obstructions like radiators etc. If you suspect the issue coukd becwifi interference try restarting the hubas thst should make it find tge lesst congested channel.

However you may need to have multiple WiFi sources to get decent coverage in every room either by buying Sky's https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or buying your own third party kit. However keep in mind that apart from downloads few apps can use bandwidth over 100Mb/s let alone need it.😀
