After signing up a few days back to the gigabyte broadband I've been checking the speed and I'm getting low speeds round my house.

Find out more@Philo100 looks pretty typical if you tested speeds at different points in your home as WiFi signal level vary due to multiple factors like distance from the hub, what lies between the two points and levels of interference not forgettingvwhat else is running when you ran the test and dont assume devices nit being used are nit using bandwidth as many do uploads and downloads when not in use.
The only reliable way to measure speeds coming into your hub - the bit Sky guarantee - is to use a proven fast link which is a direct ethernet cable between a device with a gigabit ethernet port and the hub with every thing else disconnected..
If you want to be a bit more scientific use an app like WiFi Sweetspots that measures the speed of the WiFi connection to the hub as you move round your home. Sky will gusrantee a minimum 25Mb/s in every room if you buy their WiFi Max bundle. If you want higher speeds you will have to buy your own kit. In praxtice most users see minimal gains going over 100Mb/s unless the need to move huge files.
