From researching this it looks as though any device using 2.4GHZ bandwidth aren't compatible with my sky broadband? Are there any known workarounds. I've tried disabling 5GHZ trying to fore things to connect to 2.4GHZ which didn't work.

With a white Max Hub you may need to reduce the wireless security level from WPA3-T to WPA2-PSK using the Hub settings in the My Sky app.

Note that this process does not apply to the new (white) Max Hub
So to split the two channels you need to go to your router config page which can be found by typing 192.168.0.1 into your web browser.
To access the page, you'll need;
username: admin
password: sky OR your WiFi password
- Select wireless from the navigation bar and scroll down a little and untick the 'Synchronise 2.4GHz and 5GHz settings'
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit apply.
- Once the page reloads you need to go to the 5GHz wireless settings page on the sub navigation bar below where you click wireless before
- In the 5GHz section you want to go to the box called 'Name (SSID)' and add something like 5g to the end of the current name
- Scroll down and hit apply
- Then on any wireless device you should now see two networks. One network will be the same name as usual and will be 2.4GHz band and the other will be the usual name with 5G on the end (Or whatever you typed). Connect any 5GHz capable device to the 5GHz network and see if it works correctly. The WiFi password should be the same if you havent changed it.

Thank you for all the replies and guidance. I actually figured out how to disable the two bandwidths individually on the Sky app by going to advanced settings then togglling each one on or off. It's not perfect and affected other devices in my home but got there in the end. Not sure why Sky have made it so complicated with this white max hub. Never had any issues with Virgin! .

Find out more@Jon251 most modern devices, like the current Ring doorbels, can connect to dualband SSIDs even though the only use the 2.4GHz band in practice.. Older devices and some cheap no name IOT kit sometimes can't hence the workround of temporarily turning off the 5GHz band connecting the problem decices and turning the 5GHz band back on.
To offer the highest wifi speeds like WiFi6 requires a dualband SSID as that system uses both bands together to help achieve the higher speeds.

Yeah, I was reading up on this. The device I had an issue with was a kids YOTO player, ironically this was won by a friend in a Sky competition!
the YOTO player couldn't find my WiFi until I disabled 5Ghz but by doing this is sent my Ring doorbell and my Nest thermostat into error until I turned it back on.
as I say, it works but it's a bit fiddly.
